Wale Ojo

Wale Ojo began acting with the first television station in Africa, Nigerian Television Authority as a child prodigy and star. His acting career spans nearly thirty years. He is popularly known for his television series MEET THE ADEBANJOS which depicts the hilarities of a Nigerian family living in London.

The series has won several awards and is popular in  Nigeria,Uganda,Rwanda,Ghana,Great Britain and is the third most watched comedy in South Africa. He won an NEA (Nigeria Entertainments Award) for BEST ACTOR for his role as Akin in Kunle Afolayan's PHONE SWAP and was nominated for AMAA 2012 Best Actor in leading role.

He can be seen in Oliver Parker's JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN and as a doctor in John Mcdonald's THE GUARD alongside Oscar winner Brendan Gleeson. He has made guest appearances in THE NO 1 Ladies Detective Agency alongside Jill Scott and NBC's THE PHILANTROPIST with James Purefoy.

A keen stage actor he has acted in most theatres in the United Kingdom from the Royal National Theatre to the Young Vic. He is the founder of NEW NIGERIA CINEMA which aims to produce high quality films from Nigeria and is also the founder of the VIRGO FOUNDATION,a charity which aims to educate through history and culture as well as focus on improving the lives of communities in Nigeria. He has acted in many award winning Nigerian movies lately. His most recent appearance is the film adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie’s book ‘Half a Yellow Sun’ where he featured with the likes of Chiwetel Ejiofor, Genevieve Nnaji, OC Ukeje and Onyeka Onwenu.
